Hey guys have a new to me 4300 with some Christmas lights on. Dont think they are related. ABS always on. The others cone and go. Gauges seem fine. Truck drives fine. I tried Bendix ABS software but nothint happened when I tried to connect. I will try the older servicemaxx thats free next (I have Inline 7) Any tips on diagnosing?
Also theres a sensor on the coolant res but nothing connected to it, should there be?
And last question, whats the proper way to completely drain and refill the cooling system? Should I use a vacuum kit to refill? Want to start right, cavitation issues and all
Thank you. Trying to take care of issues one by one.
2002 Int 4300 Check Elec Sys, ABS, Warn Engine (unrelated), and other questions.

2002 will still be old school DT, so vacuum filling isn't critical on that since there is no EGR coolers. If you give me the last 8 of the VIN I can see what abs system it was built with, it might not be Bendix. Some series do not use the level sensor, but it is built with the reservoir anyway, so nothing to worry about. Like, DT don't use it, but if you had a Cummins it would.
montrose818 Thanks this. -
You might have a power to ECM issue. At times That will show itself as an abs, and engine light together. Your issues may be unrelated as well though.
I would def check the power to ECM. Replace that fuse. Disconnect the oem harness from the motor and disconnect from battery, check for continuity. (To make sure it can carry the amperage/voltage). Leave it hooked up to the battery next, but disconnected from the ECM and check for 12v power.
Your Christmas lights, is it stop engine, or check engine. If it’s stop engine and abs, very well could be an ECM power supply issue. What’s your motor as well so others could help better -
Wow I said all that and failed to mentioned, it is a dt466. Sorry!
No stop engine just Warn Engine.
Ive read the power to ecm mentioned, will give that a try. I couldnt get any DTCs wih ServiceMaxx and Inline7, but did see temps and such. Ordered a chinese Nexiq2, if its no good I will go for the real one. -
I hooked up the chinese Nexiq2 via servicemaxx and same thing, DTC codes just ... and nothing, same as with my Inline7. I might drive around with it hooked up and see if a dtc shows up with warn engine, or if a sensor reading is off. Still no luck connecting with bendix software. I did notice an abs relay on right front leaks under a strong service brake push, but I dont think this is causing the abs light.
Ill try to see if I can find the power fuse. Ill also post up the last 8 of vin. I need to change all the filters, maybe a misfire causing the light? -
Servicemaxx is not friendly with older engines. Try "1708 ServiceMaxx" for that.

Thanks all. Thanks heavyd, youre an encyclopedia of knowledge -
Sometimes you have to hit the "refresh" button to get the codes to populate.
