2003 volvo 660 cruise control not working

The Accelerator Pedal itself and or the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor might need to be replaced. If it is the original one than it's best to replace the whole Accelerator Pedal as it comes with a new Pedal Position Sensor included. A worn out Pedal will affect the operation of the Cruise Control and Jake Brake causing it to operate erratically.

 

The Fault Code you posted is the Code for the part or parts I described, as far as if it will fix your truck, don't really know as there aren't any active codes yet.

 

Hi, when you say the engine stay running even though the ignition is OFF it's sound to me you have a J 1939 Data Link Communication problem because on Volvo truck version 2 (october 2002) up to now when you turn the ignition OFF the VECU receive the signal from the key switch and tell to all module (throught J-1939) to store their information because shutdown mode is in process.
If you have a J1939 problem it take up to 5-7 second before the engine shut down also it possible the cruise control (Fast Idle) don't work.
About your code for the pedal if you can read it with the cluster is it: MID 144 PSID 230 FMI 5 or somthing like that ?
If it is i recommand you to have a close look in the battery box for the little wires on the second battery it's ground for Vehicule ECU , make sure that little wire is in a good shape with a very clean terminal and a good contact on the battery bus bar.
