Are you able to connect a mechanical fuel pressure gauge to it and check for fuel pressure? Any high pressure oil issues will cause a check engine light. I would suspect the low pressure fuel pump first, but you should be diagnosing this and not throwing parts at it.
-
ok changed the pressure regulator yesterday...didnt do a thing...where should i hook up the gauge ?
-
Does it have a compuchek fitting on the fuel filter cap?
-
are you talking about the little knob looking thing next to the center?
-
Yes it should look like this, it is a quick-connect that requires the matching fitting, (second picture). Very popular test port that is on most engines. If not, you can remove it and thread something else in there.
