    im looking to buy a 2007 volvo it has 1million miles on a d12 465hp. the person is asking 14k for the truck. the truck it self looks like they took good care of the truck.My concern is it worth the money the person is asking and how soon I would need to do a overhaul on the engine. any one have experience with a d12 engine and could inform me about it.

    Asking price seems high for a D12 engine truck.
    Inspection would be needed to answer all the questions.
    If you run in California, that engine does not meet California emissions.

    Has the egr been deleted ?
    Older D12 engines could go 1.6 million before rebuild.

    Get oil sample, and dyno run.

    no rust on the frame and the inside super clean was a older person driving this truck the engine looks very healthy and doesnt smoke

    Dyno and oil sample. Than see how cheap you can get it for if test is good.
