2008 389 with a 2007 Cummins

    Are you sure the previous owner ''changed'' the motor or are you assuming he did because the motor year is 2007 and the model year of the truck is 2008?

    Just to add not all 2008 trucks had a DPF. I believe the mandate started on trucks built on after Jan 1 2008.

    I was under the assumption it was the 2007 engine model year that required the DPF. Quite common to see the engine year lag a year or possibly 2 behind the chassis year.

    Somewhere along the line it was delayed by
    1 year but 2007 was correct originally AFAIK.
    I'll look later.

    Has anybody seen a 2007 model year truck with a factory DPF?

    I know there ARE 2008 model year trucks without factory DPF.

    yes. There are plenty of ‘07s with dpf...or at least there were back in 2007.

    I have an 07 kw w900 with a 06 isx nothing but egr.

    My '07 International CM870 is EGR only. From what I understood, '07 first half was EGR, and second half was EGR and DPF.
