    Hello fellow truckers,
My 2010 Cummins ISX 450 lost oil pressure today. Dropped down to about 15psi and never went any lower or higher. Did not get any codes or engine warnings. Did not lose lower either. I did notice a slight winding noise somewhere behind the fan, Jacobs brakes stopped working as well. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks... 475k miles with about 3k on a fresh oil change

Sensor can get stuck in range. Pull the electrical connector and look for oil leaking out into the connector, dead giveaway bad sensor. If not get a manual gauge on it asap to check pressure.

I wouldn’t drive it till sure it’s a bad sensor. You’re engine brakes require oil to work, so that’s pointing to low oil pressure. I have a friend with the CM 2250 ISX, he lost oil pressure, then found out his fuel pump disintegrated, plugging oil galleries that destroyed his engine. I hope that’s not the case with you.

Did you pull the dipstick? Someone correct me but fuel in oil lowers oil pressure? Both previous replies pretty much covered it, the issue, better than i can.

Not sure but does that model have a spin filter?

    Ok,
Brought it in to ALL Diesal S.Houston,TX. They ran pressure test and ended up being a clogged oil filter. Apparently, fleet guard had some issues. Changed them out and pressure went back up to 40 psi.

Great to hear only plugged filter! Don’t know what you had exactly, but I’ve been using fleetguard LF14000, or Baldwin 50000. They seem to plug faster when using oil additives like Lucas. Keep an eye on that fuel pump if you have the cm2250 or 2350. I believe there’s a TSB from Cummins on it. If it’s still got red paint, it may still be original (not good).

Plugged filter and only 3k on the oil? Sorry for being blunt, but I dont buy it. Good for you that's all it was........ I'd be pulling a sample for analysis if I was you. If it really did plug that fast you have deeper issues, and the filter is not to blame. JMO

If it is plugging filters that bad, and it is an ISX871, get the engine static timed. Getting the timing advanced works wonders on the 871's.
Being yours is a 2010 it could be an 871 or a 2250.
