    I'm not sure what this part is called its installed on firewall and there's controller that opens/closes plastic flap on firewall for fresh air. Mechanic said motor is burnt out and I have to replace it. Anyone familiar with what I'm talking about here. I have to go to dealer or search online to find working part and replace it.

    in years past, most called that the 'blending door'. but it sounds as if the motor that controls the door is bad. it may be called the 'actuator' motor.

    The door to outside air is for recirculating air. When closed it cuts off outside air and just recirculate's the air in the cabin. You would need the recirc actuator most likely.
