Can someone tell me the 2016 IRS "per diem" daily rate and make it clear if you are stating the 100% amount or the 80% amount. If you know both 100 & 80% number please tell me.

At 100% was 63$ for a full day from Jan1st to Oct1st, 31.50 for partial days, haven't read anything that says they raised the rate for 2017-2018.
I've heard rumors that some of the tax programs are still only showing 59$, but that might have been my accountant trying to drum up additional customers.tscottme Thanks this. -

I agree... search
Here is the pub you need.
Note - in the past you normally took 80% of the standard daily rate for full days. But, I have been unable to verify this in pub 463 which is the most current IRS Pub.
Partial days are 75% of the standard daily rate. Some will say that you take 75% of the 80%, but the pub clearly states that you take 75% of the standard daily rate.
And $63 is the 2016 rate, $68 for outside the US.

If you disagree, then show a current pub or form so that this can be cleared up. Do not just say it is.. I called the IRS and after 45 minutes talking to the agent, she agrees, that this is the only pub that she can find that covers transportation workers.Attached Files:
