Thinking of buying a used 2016 Freightliner Columbia S 60 Series with 480k miles.
    500hp
    10 speed eaton
    3.42 gear ration
    ( Fitz glider)

My concern are the miles for a 2016 truck. Maybe I can get some advice?
I will do a dyno, compression check, oil samples, blowby test, air cooler leak test, check the frond end and fluid samples from the tranny and both diff's.
I had a realy BAD experience with a DPF truck so i said to my self NEVER AGAIN. That's the main reason why I'm looking at gliders but they are so expensive...
I'm trying to get this one down to $73,000, it was listed for $79,900. Truck is in Altoona, IA ( Harrison truck centar ) I've been in this business for little over 4 years. This would be my first s 60 series. Any advice would be really appreciate.
    Thanks Martin

I think you are right but I can't find any better price on these gliders, all of them are expensive

Harrison truck center has a good reputation for their glider build quality. My question is did Harrison, build it or fitzgerald? Being two years old it should have some warranty left. S60 engine can be fixed almost anywhere.

From what they've told me the truck was build by Fitz, they did mention an extended warranty by TruNorth, nothing on how much, they would have to check the truck first.

The coronados will be more $. Don't think it is a terrible deal. Maybe high 60's to 70k would be ok. Can you send me a link to it?

For about $20,000-$25,000 less you could buy one very similar from Schneider, it may not have some of the bells and whistles the Fitz has. Clarke diesel built the Schneider gliders. Clarke is also who built many of Fitzgerald’s engines. I have a Fitzgerald glider I had built new in 2016 and have been happy with. I think the price is high on the one you are looking at. However the price of used gliders seems to have gone up in the last year or so.

They have many to choose from. The biggest disadvantage I have heard is that you can’t take them off property. This could be a deal breaker for you because I would want to put it on a Dyno before buying used. 5947667F-8553-482A-A40E-D553A555C8B8.jpeg
