I have the PACCAR drivetrain. So after a recent service and supposable computer updates I am now having an intermittent issue with getting a Transmission Fault. This happens when moving around to a dock at a shipper/receiver and going in forward to reverse. Cycling key a few times and fiddling with shift knob seems to make it go back to working. No codes remain on dash.
How worried should I be about this leaving me stranded?

I guessing thats an auto-matic.

Old thread but I had the same issue and I broke down on the side of the road. Turns out they had to replace the clutch actuator.

Broke down at the shipper’s door - loaded. Transmission Fault keeps blinking. The Truck (Peterbilt 579) won’t get into a gear. I have tried disconnecting the battery several times but that is not working. This is an automatic transmission truck. Looks like I’m spending a night here since the dealership shop doesn’t open until weekend after Thanksgiving. Any help/suggestion on how to troubleshoot this issue?
