So about 10 years ago PA made a long overdue 4 lane bypass away from the retail corridor which had been hopelessly gridlocked for years. Except even though common sense would say this was at LEAST a 55 mph type road, the speed limit remained 45. (In spite of the fact that immediately south of the bypass, where it goes DOWN to 2 lanes undivided, WITH residences, the speed limit actually goes UP!!) the entire stretch had all the hallmarks of a revenue generator.
Well it looks like they're not even trying to be subtle about it anymore. They're just treating 222 in Trexlertown as a cash generator.
Why set up tolls when you can have 5-7 officers working speed traps? That's including 2 diesel bears.
So if you're going through there, slow down and for god's sake have your logs in order.

Been through there many times, plenty of container haulers supporting the local DOT/FOP fund raiser.

Are those speed traps local cops or PA Troopers?

Around Allentown,Trexlertown and Breinigsville the PA State Police and the Lower Macungie Township Police love to “work the block” around that area. Last few times I was in that area Township DOT was putting the screws to a few drivers, especially along Schantz Road.
