I haven't driven a t/t in over 10 years and Schneider trucking is recommending 3 day refresher followed with 21 days of training at their training place. Will I need to memorize the pretrip again or do they allow a check list to go over the t/t. I'm nervous about the whole process of starting over and any info on what to expect or advise would be appreciated. I still have a current and clean cdl a, Thanks for any info

Call them and ask? It's been 10 years, even another week won't matter at this point.
One thing I will ask, is have you been using it for even a class b? Mainly have you been maintaining your medical card? If you havn't, you may not actually have a CDL.

Go to Carolina Cargo in Rock Hill if Shnieder does not work out.
Run Team for a couple of months and you will be as good as gold.

Carolina Cargo is a 2nd chance company and the lowest of the low. That should always be the last choice, never the first or even 100th.

Only time I recommend CC is if the person has absolutely no chance of getting hired anywhere else. Why don't you tell the op what he would be making at Carolina cargo.

I don't think money is the issue here. but since he is way up North, That would not be a good option even if the pay was 40 cents a mile since they don't let you take your truck home.

Buell was a hell of a lot lower. Thats why they are no more. I have worked for CC 4 different times.Made decent pay. I never started out an 10 cents a mile though. But it was not a hard job. the only hard part was finding a co driver that was compatible.

He won't be making anything since he thinks he is already a truck driver. Better that I tell everyone this statistic. 15 out of 100 new truck drivers are still driving OTR after one year. 85 percent don't make it!
That is what keeps the CDL schools rolling in dough.

He might be cut out for a flatbed. What do you think. Senn Freight in Newberry will give him shot. but if he is not willing to learn, not willing to listen, what can you do? He needs to learn that his head can tilt upward instead of always gazing downward at others.
