Let's see what it will take to kiss and make up. I would hate it for a new visitor to this site be trapped into CR England as well. ( Decades ago, they once boasted into the page two half size article saying they only keep two spare reefer units for 600+ trailers, and all of them apparently stored deep inside the home base far out west. )
They literally boasted themselves off my short list of companies I would not mind hiring on.
4 year old, unused CDL with no experience. Any chances?

It's best to do the online applications before any phone calls. Submit the app. then call and say, "I'm checking on my job application." This way they can pull up your application on their computer screen and at least have something to work with.

Thought I remember seeing that Celadon has a refresher, somewhere around Indy? Maybe I'm wrong.

Cumberland has plate glass and other heavy industry too. Why not look around I know there is something somewhere.
Grantsville should have a trucking school in which you can get a refresher maybe. Things are changing since you last got the CDL.
I think you already sworn to affidavit to tier two on your CDL so you don't need a medical ard, but if you are going to hire on to trucking and get going, do not forget to go to DMV and change the status of your licensing. And... follow through with a PASSPORT for Canada AND the real ID Enhanced license which is mandatory by 2020 where I am. It allows you to board domestic flights and gain access to the VA and Federal military bases etc.
Never mind those who demand experience. Every driver without fail has to come up with adequate expereince. It's BS as far as Im concerned. I got 30 years and a busted body with a failing heart. I wont be around in a few years. But until then, I keep working where i can to help people like you where possible.
My experience means nothing to employers because I have not touched a big truck in the last 3, 5 or 7-10 years. Do you understand? I might as well be a suckling infant holding a rattle in one hand demanding Mommy for all the efforts companies refuse to consider for hiring.
So there it is. I hope you feel a little better. Being new and no experience is tough, I see it as discrimination. Mark those employers off and move on to others.Lepton1 and UsualSuspect Thank this. -
