looks good right, 5000lbs 6.93 pm, got details 24ft long 12.20 wide, that little .20 requires a escort in front in ark, if not for prob 2 pieces of crate over the 12ft mark woulda been a good load keeping it under 12ft max and only permits/flags/ect to move it,amazing how 2 inches can change the ballgame.

Ouch
This is why I dont play with you big boys doing the big over size.
I'll stick with the occasional 9 - 11 ft wide and even rarer over weight permits.
You guys are way above me on that stuff. I dont have the setup to run what you guys do.

i realy want to knock the end pieces off the crates to get it to 12 even, lol

I had a load offering like that, shipper sent me a picture of load and it has about .5 inch of wrap on each side. Told um it would be cheaper if they removed the 1 inch of packaging so they did...I didn't end up needing an escort and got a pretty good rate. Luckily we got it adjusted before getting all the permits.

I need to try OD someday.

The hardest thing about OD is getting all your paperwork in order. -
I have never pulled OD and don't want to, but I'm curious about this: who pays for the escorts(s) and permits? Does the shipper pay for that stuff, in addition to what the load pays, or would all of that come out of the $2750 on this particular load?
-
comes out of the 6.93 cpm, you always quote the haul for everything, permits escorts ect unless its a direct ship then you can work that with the shipper as you go.

Man, those big numbers don't look so big anymore. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Nice thing about doing oversize is you do get plenty of sleep for the most part. Especially in the winter since you mostly can't run at night. Or in adverse weather that reduces vision. Or during rush hours in cities. Or on most holidays. Or most of the weekend, depending on the state. Or because constructions has the only route you can fit down shut down for a couple months. Or.... well, you get the idea. So ya, that $7 per mile looks great on paper but it can quickly become a load that it might have been better just to take that $3 per mile load. But then, I suspect alot of us who have done OD don't do it purely for the money.
88 Alpha Thanks this.
