How do i deal with this problem? My authority is less than 6 months old and it seems like every company i call for a load wants my authority to be atleast 6 months old? This is keeping me up nights...Who can I call for work I need at least the $850 a month for the insurance. I really have called around 15 places and they keep telling me the same thing. I have 5 years of company driving exp. I have a 53" dry van.

second time I've hear this recently and I've NEVER heard of it before that. Disturbing to say the least.
just keep calling, some of them will load ya and when you find them you will just have to stick with them. Are you set up with landstar as an approved carrier? I don't think they require that -
Have not had a problem making money. I run mostly california, but the brokers are all over the country.
Good luck. -
I try to avoid the giant companys like them (CH Robinson, UTI, etc) Its my expierence (and opinion) that most of the good rates come from the smaller brokerages companies. -

Not getting paid is part of the risk of going into business for yourself, if your going to worry about it, then you should lease on to a company as an owner-operator. -
Hi all fellow truckers, I will be getting my authority soon and just recieved my CDL. I plan on calling some brokers off of the load boards before I get my authority to make sure that they wouldnt care if it is new or not, but has anyone (broker) said anything about a CDL being under 6 months old?
