Mine stopped working on my bearcat 880.

I can’t seem to find a 6 pin at any truckstop. Currently in Lebanon Oregon. Anyone have any suggestions on where to get one. All I find is the 4 pin ones.

    Thanks

The radio should of come with a 4 pin to 6 pin adapter cord, look in the original box if you still have it, should be with power cord and mounting hardware.

    Adaptor is what’s needed.

And what happened to mic? A GEARKEEPER you can pick up at truckstop. Takes strain off radio end of cord.

Hung correctly it’s junior super trucker all the way (I kid, I must have four of them).

Junior super trucker has mic AND smartphone on Gearkeepers.

Here’s (one of our regular contributors) in demonstration back in his Days of Handsome (when the girls saw that stuffed wallet & unopened Wild Turkey)

I bought the standard gear keeper when I bought the unit. I think the mic was messed up new out of the box and it hated me. lol

    Warranty is up as well.

It may be a broken wire on the mic plug itself. Wouldn't hurt to take a look or have someone else do it. The latter one depends on if it's someone who you trust, being on the road, that's probably not going to happen.

I thought of getting a six hole plug attached to one of my Astatic 636s, but I'm using the stock mic on the 980, it works ok. My adapter came apart, I probably should check into repair or replacement of that.

Telex/Turner ROAD-KING 56 (cb Shop; in box not truckstop blister pack)

    Astatic 636

    Ranger 198-SRA

Palomar-41 (best choice but out of production)

Roadking is your default best microphone going back a long ways. But sold & re-sold by different manufacturers. One from the 1990s or earlier is best. I’ve had about five of them. Gave best one to son.

Not positive about box vs blister. But it’s worked for me.

In the meantime, the 636 can be hard to beat.

The holy grail is the ASTATIC 575M6. No longer in production. Read at Bobs CB for description. EBay about $200 NIB.

Get that RM ITALY KL203 baby amp on there.

I have seen the Bearcat 6 pin replacement mic sold in Mom and Pop truck stops or Ambest, you would think since Pilot/ Flying J and Loves sell the 880/980 they would also sell the mic, if you can get by a cb shop see if they have a 4pin to 6pin adapter that works on a RCI, because it will work, or else you can buy the Uniden wireless mic for the 880/980, usually sold in TA/Petro.

You could always buy a 4 pin microphone and transfer the 6-pin plug over to the new microphone.
    4 pin wiring
    1 shield
    2 audio
    3 transmit
    4 receive

    Uniden 6-pin wiring
    Pin 1 - audio
    Pin 2 - Rx
    Pin 3 - transmit
    Pin 4 - receive
    Pin 5 - shield
    Pin 6 - 8 volts

You should probably be able to figure out which wire goes where on the 6 pin plug. You could get a cheap $5 microphone out of a clearance bin someplace and switch the plug real quick and be back in business pretty quickly.
