What is the possibility of being hired at 64 by a company after trucking school is completed?

should not be a big problem as long as you are willing to make the nessary sacrifices away from home and lower pay til u get experience. there several companies who would hire students just do homework find out what u can and cant deal with that is what makes the difference with your outlook at a company what can u put up with and can not put up with

As long as you can pass all the requirements you should not have a problem. If you don't want to handle the freight there are several no touch companies.

    Hey Rik:
From the sound of your "handle" your only problum may be your skirt:biggrin_2559: Then again maybe not.

As encorragement, I'm 66 and just started last year.

I'm just driving a straight truck for an expiditing company but I'm on the road. Looking for a way to get into a real truck.

I've had my CDL-A for 10 years but never used it. Now I'm going through the (pay your dues) things that will get me there. Hopefully.

Check out Schnider. They have a deal with AARP that gives you 17 weeks at home per year.

    Best of luck.

    Thronapple,

You have given me encouragement. I'll look into Schneider. Thanks for the information. I'm an AARP member.

NoTarps, thanks for the support. Now I'm curious. Why have you said your truck driving experience has become a nightmare?

Thanks, Silver Eagle. I appreciate the advice. I wouldn't mind the lower pay starting out. Take care.

What's wrong with that many birthdays? Can you pass your DOT physical? I'm a little older than you are. Works for me.
