Hi my name is Chris and I'm new to the forum. I'm building a bad boy 6nz and was wanting to use a lower NXS block. Any advice on pistons, front cover, cam, and 6nz tune?

    Thanks!

Nsx crank will not work in a pre MBN engine. That is all I know.
Why not go big boy and build a 7nz??

I have a spare Acert in the shop thought it would make a good bottom end.

If you have the 4 bolt mains than yes that is the strongest bottom end made. Stroke it to make it a C16.

Just to be clear I want to use the short block from the NXS and use the head and 6nz components on the top.

    Intothesunset Thanks this.

As far as I know that is a thing that is done. Just make it into a C16.

I heard C16 have a tendency to crack liners.

From what I understand, you can go the 6nz route fairly easy with the acert block and crank, do some research.
To go the C16 route you would need a crank, and they are to my understanding big bucks, and the liners are a little thinner. If a guy was going to go that route, might as well go all out and use a C18 crank and liners.

Awesome thanks for the info. All I have found so far is change the front cover to a 6nz and use 6nz timing gear.
