Every one of these requires the vehicle to be in neutral, per attendant and signage instructions. It’s really not that hard.

 

What these boneheads do is use both of their feet to control the brake and accelerator when they should only be using the right foot to control both pedals.

Eventually, their inability to distinguish between the left and right foot occurs and a crash happens.

 

It's time to take Grandpa's keys

 

Taking their keys takes their independence. That old guy probably hauls around a bunch of other elderlies to appointments, grocery stores, etc. He’s probably still more competent than a vast number of other people on the road I won’t mention.

BS...in my state we must renew our drivers license every year. if our doctor "see's" that we are not up to par in thinking, reflexes, etc, HE puts an end to our driving days.

old folks (even like me) are an extreme danger every time they get behind the wheel and turn that key.

my kids know when to take my keys way from me, when that day comes.

this pedal confusion happens all too often. if it happens just once, it'll happen again and again.

competency is lost real quick when this happens.

 

I don’t disagree, to an extent. There’s going to come a time. However, the crap I experience on the road seems far more dangerous than a poor guy whose faculties aren’t what they used to be, in a car wash.

Again, the vehicle was to be in neutral. If it would’ve been, this wouldn’t have happened. The kids running these places don’t care, so they don’t ensure policies are followed. I’m a car wash member myself and watch it every time I go through.
