I attained my CDL in May 2024 with no manual restriction. I don’t have my endorsements yet, but I’m taking the tests on Monday. I’ve spent the last 9 months driving flatbed and stepdeck with a company out of Chicago that delivers to all 48 states. I’ve had zero accidents or incidents. No tickets. Spotless MVR/DAC. Alcohol/drug free.

The company I’ve been working for in Chicago is going under financially, and I’m ready to find a local job back home in Dallas. I’m not interested in food/beverage delivery after all the horror stories I’ve read. Most LTL jobs require a year of experience in my area. I would love to drive an end dump trailer and work for a construction company, but my searches on indeed and other job sites aren’t turning up many job listings for construction cdl jobs in Dallas. I see tons of local day cabs in Dallas on a daily basis hauling sand and gravel, so I know the jobs are out here. I just need help finding some construction companies to apply to.

    Google: "Construction companies Dallas, Texas"
Many will show up. Sort through them, then start the applications on the ones you're interested in.

You're better off calling your local companies directly that do what you're interested in because those online job sites are all AI now and most of the listings are old, fishing expeditions and/or fake. Now is the time to get searching and apply because everyone is getting ready for the busy season.

Go to the quarries and concrete plants in your region and and make note of the companies going in and out. Keep a notebook handy and jot down the name of the companies you see running local.

Construction co's that haul end dumps aren't normally doing aggregates. They are hauling demo material. What I've seen is construction co's doing combo duties with their "drivers" . As an example, drivers drives to job site, and then magically turns into a labor grunt at that job site. Then when the truck is loaded he is back to being a driver. I'm sure there are co's that will use their equipment to run aggregates when not needed at a construction site. look hard in your area for aggregates, sand and gravel etc. Dallas is booming.

Decide if you want the local job or do you want all of your conditions met or how much you want to work near DFW. Only blonde 6-foot slim super-models get everything they want when they want it. Being an adult is hard.
