Cannot figure out what is wrong with this truck. Worked just fine, then sat for a little while, and now it won't start up. On an extremely rare occasion it might fire up after it eats a can of starter fluid.

There is no signal going to the injectors, and it might possibly be a bad engine sensor.

Does anyone have an idea on this? We've had a couple guys take a look at it and can't seem to figure it out.

Does it have fuel to the fuel pump? Which engine do you have? Probably lost prime.

    3ztt Thanks this.

Crack an injector line while cranking and see if there's any fuel.

I am thinking you have a perforated fuel line and you have lost your prime.

Thanks for your reply, guys. We have prime, so unfortunately, that's not it. Could it possibly be an engine sensor?

check the "cam timing sensor" and the related wiring harness.

That is what we believe it is. Is there a way to test for that short of going out to buy the sensor?

I'd check the connections real good also.
I had bad cam sensor and bought aftermarket one and it didn't fix. Then we tried several other things till we come back to the CPS and got another one from the dealer and it fixed it.
Our problem also happened after sitting for couple months but on a Ford.

    3ztt Thanks this.

It's a WCA Aero. There is concern about buying another part without some sort of guarantee that it will fix it, due to a no-refund policy. Is there a way to bypass the CPS, even temporarily?

removed your fuel filters and check them for water. when trucks sit for a while the water seperates and settles to the bottom of the tank. so when you start cranking it it picks up the water off the bottom of the tank. Recommend removing filters drain them then fill with fuel and put them back on. just a cheap quick thing to check.
