My son has an 88 Pete on with landstar and has an EOBR in it. Rush Peterbilt hooked it up just hard wiring it. No electronics were added. Its a misconception that an EOBR wont work on mechanical engines. It might be that not all EOBR's will work on mechanicals but qualcom's will.

Haha. I talked to this guy today. Should have the truck by sat... He ran for landstar. He said I'm getting a really good truck he just can't drive anymore. Said it'll be good as long as I take care of it.

Im pretty sure Detroit 500 were 12.7 until 04 or later. Are you sure it's a 14 liter. I'm a cat fan and could be wrong but we had an 01 star with the 12.7

Wouldn't be the first time someone told me they didn't exist. Yes. It said 14L 500 hp on the engine decal and it was either a 2000 or a 2001 Sterling.

There are a limited amount of pre EGR 14 liter Detroits. The oldest I've seen PERSONALLY is a 1999.

I didn't tell anyone they didn't exist. That wasn't in my post at all. I was pretty sure but I was wrong. Your sterling was at least an 01 model cause that's when they used the different crank to make it a 14l but that also means the 99 star is a 12.7 unless it was a drop in

So the pre EGR 14 L is a 12.7 with a stroker crank?

That's what I found on it when I looked it up. I thought it was the same block but like I said I'm not a Detroit fan at all. My experience is limited with those engines. Hate to admit it but I know more about the 71 and 92 series than I do 60
