If you’re not running any cabling it’s super simple.

 

Its not that hard just think it through and take your time.

 

My 2020 vnl has this over fuse box.




This hole has the antenna and power leads in it, plus a frame to attach it to. Notice the thing to hold the cb talky thing to the left of said hole.

 

Aw, you know, something as simple to us as installing a CB, that we did on a daily basis when slip seating, may seem foreign to someone. 1st, a CB? Really? 2nd, super easy. If the wires don't already have a power port accessory thing, look above, red wire goes to red nut, and black to black. You may have to strip the plastic coating off to get to the shiny wire. Screw the antenna cable into the back of the CB, and bolt the antenna to the right mirror bracket, wire via vent window, or if none, just slam it in the door.. You're all set, now, if there was anyone else with one,,,

 

Volvo’s sometimes have issues with antenna grounding. They make a mounting bracket specifically for that problem. Try asking on the Volvo forum. Chances are the Truck is already wired for a cb, possibly an antenna. Ask about the bracket. Should still be available at TA. Wilson makes them. You can get power from a cigarette light/accessory port if needed. They sell those too. A coax, ideally 9 ft long stretched out in a long loop, hidden away on upper shelf, or across the dash. Pretty simple. Speaker optional. CB has a built in speaker on the the bottom. A Road King or Astatic brand noise cancelling microphone is a worthy purchase. Cheap Francis 4’or 5’antenna is all you need. Not sure which size is best for Volvos.

 

That is about it. Very easy and takes about ten minutes to install. I would not pay anyone to install one. Now if you want it upgraded and tuned is another thing.
