Thanks a lot. This is very helpful. Ok, so as far as them pulling employment history, I was told by my recruiter that they would be verifying last 3 years of employment. What's been confusing me on that statement is whether or not they pull consumer records, call the jobs on the application, or only pull the DAC to verify the history. I've been told different things, like to tell them, otherwise when they pull my records it could backfire on me. Well.... What records are those exacly? lol. And that question hasn't really been answered yet, which is confusing me extremely.
When I applied at Micro Center, I told them on that application that My current job is the only one I've had for the past 2 years (at that time) and that I had held no other jobs, when in reality, just a year and a half prior, employment ceased at my current job and I went to work at UPS for a couple of weeks. When my current job called me to come back to work there, I jumped at the opportunity and left UPS, and since UPS was literally only a couple of weeks, I've always said I've worked my current employer for as long as I have (2 1/2 years). So I'm just confused as to whether or not it'll be like the Micro Center situation and it'll go over ok if I just don't put those 2 jobs down. Lol, so much info! Sorry!![]()

I e-mailed my recruiter a few minutes ago, and was told they do pull your DAC. So, just like you said, I'm guessing they check your employment history based on your DAC, and when people say I should disclose it because it'll be on my records, this is what they mean..? Since I don't have a DAC, they can only see what I've done based on my application..?
-
they will pull your DAC, since it provides info other than employment history, like your MVR (driving record), and criminal record.
Here it is one more time: DAC SUPPLIES TRUCKING INDUSTRY EMPLOYMENT VERIFICATION. Jobs outside of trucking are not listed. So, no they don't know what you did, outside the app you filled out.
Trucking companies are supposed to verify the last 3 years of employment, but need you to give the last ten because of requirements from the FMCSA.
That said, I am not advocating on lying, but again, how do they know where you have worked outside of trucking????? Because you told them. All they do is verify the information.
The two week stint at UPS, put it on there, or leave it out, I don't think it will effect your getting hired.
I have jobs in the past that don't exist anymore, good luck verifying that.
Don't worry, I am sure it will all be fine. Just remember, you are not being hired by the CIA or Secret Service. It is a truck driving job. -

Credit reports show employment don't they? I'm not making a statement, I just thought I remembered seeing employment on the report as well, something to keep in mind.
-
not the just the most recent, the last three years. I don't know how all companies do it, but in trucking it is in writing, and normally done by fax.
So, make sure you take the appropriate info with you to your orientation, because you will have to fill out an app again. And they will want 10 years. The last three they verify. -

I actually just answered my own question there, lol. I was reading their information release form they had sent to me, and it looks, like you've said, that everything is done by DAC. I'll be ok, lol. Thanks for the help and great info. Really helped to calm my nerves!
-
they may pull your credit report I guess??? To my knowledge they never did with me, but I couldn't swear to it.
At your age Ssccrab I wouldn't worry all that much anyhow. How many jobs could you have had since high school?
Calm down, take a couple of deep breaths, and just go there, have fun with it, and enjoy the ride.
You are not getting screened to protect the president, you are getting a job driving a truck. It really is not that big a deal.Last edited: Aug 27, 2009

BTW- Are you in Missouri? Judging by your screen name, I thought you might be..?
