Haven't you seen members complaining flashing blinds them ? I don't understand it . It never bothered me . You can't trust other drivers' judgement though . I passed a flatbed yesterday and the driver behind me told the flatbed he was clear to pull over . I got on the CB and said "Clear my *** . You put him right on my back bumper " . This was in MI and sure enough s I did the 60 m.p.h. limit that truck passed me and the flatbed and he was a Canadian FedEx driver . That's the way Canadians drive . When a truck passes you jump out as soon as his rear bumper clears your front bumper .

Rick, I've seen the Canadian drivers, and your right, they do "jump" out when they think there's enough room. Its not gradual either.

Hubby and I were on I80 going through Nebraska. Speed limit is 75, right? A Martin truck pulls out to pass a D.O.T truck. The D.O.T truck decides that "she" is going to mess with us all and speeds up so that the governed Martin truck cannot pass her, keeping us sitting behind the Martin truck, doing 63. At 15 miles of this ####, Hubby gets on the radio and says "Come on D.O.T. back out of it and let him pass." Martin driver gets on the Radio, annoyed "Says, She's messing with us." At 25 miles of this ####, the Martin truck finally gets around her, pulls into the slow lane, and she whips out in front of us and passes him. By this time, hubby is fuming about this horse play, and so is the Martin driver. The Martin driver gets on the radio and says that we should call her in. As we pass her, I get the truck number and hubby calls back to the Martin driver with the Truck number, so that he can report her. She was simply messing with us all, and it was uncalled for. She knew exactly what she was doing and didn't care that she was not being safe about her driving.

I'm sure that she was reported, and we would have, if we had thought about writing down the report number off the trailer.

Its idiots like this that give truckers a bad name and keep the 4 wheelers pissed at them.

I reported a DisTech driver doing that to a JB driver for about 15 miles on I-71 a while back . Distech slowed on a hill and JB started to pass . DisTech topped the hill and hung JB in the hammer lane doing 65 in a 70 m.p.h. zone . This ended when JB got on I-264 and DisTech went on to 64 west . I followed DisTech and he was doing 70 in the 64 65 m.p.h. zone . A month later I passed that Distech driver . His truck was obviously governed at 65 m.p.h. :biggrin_25519::biggrin_25519:

You ever see Taladega Knights-Ricky Bobby with Will Ferrel. One of his lines in the movie is "I like to go fast". Catch my drift. Its like when you probably get cut off in the truck lane by some old Asian person who drives slow"no offense I am not racist".

I know the DOT truck was being a jerk but no way I'd have sat there for 25 miles. Martin would have to have backed out to let me in front of her for some playtime of my own. Mine runs 106. :smt077

Honestly, it never bothers me when a trucker moves into the passing lane as long as they aren't rude about it. If I am passing someone in my mini-van filled with children and I don't want to go over 70, then please don't pull directly behind me and ride my bumper until I can safely move over. That is quite intimidating, especially knowing that, should anything happen, my mini-van is most definitely going to come out on the losing end of an accident with a semi. That scares me...especially with my kids in the car. So if a trucker ever sees me flip them the bird for tailing me it is probably b/c they have scared the living ##### out of me. I don't normally do that, but I will get a bit pissed off when I see someone (trucker or otherwise) needlessly putting the lives of others at risk. Just my two cents. I will respect you, if you respect me.:mcool:

I am Canadian and I have never driven like that, ever. Not all Canadians drive like that. I could say the same about some Americans, I have seen plenty of them drive like that too but that doesn't mean that they all do. Thank the east indian drivers from Toronto for giving us all a bad name,

As for the idiot woman that was messing around, I wouldn't have been so nice about it. I would have pushed her dumb ### right off the road.

What's with lumping canadian drivers together I'm pretty sure that most of us don't tailgate only a percentage the bad percentage and as for the occasional tight flash in sometimes on the hills guys flash a passing truck in tight to clear the passing lane. And if you are talking about governed trucks you must be in on of the liberal provinces. So how about easing up on the full county condemnation since most US trucks don't get very far north.:biggrin_25513:

Since when do two wrongs make a right?

If you announced your intent to slam on your binders, and do so, resulting in a crash, if any witnesses come forward attesting to your threat over the CB, you're likely to be charged with causing an accident, which, in fact, you would have been guilty of.

I remember such a case about 20 years ago. A female truck driver was informed over the CB that a 4-wheeler was drafting her trailer, to which she replied, "let's see how they like it when I hit my brakes". Well, ........ she hit her brakes a tad too hard, locked up the trailer tandems, and the drafting 4-wheeler drove under her trailer --- killing the driver.
She went to jail for a long time.

Actions causing a crash are illegal, and rightfully so. A lesson taught --- a lesson learned, the hard way.

Do what you have to do to safely defuse a dangerous situation. Don't exacerbate it. That's what being a 'professional' driver is all about.
Professional drivers don't allow their emotion(s) to dictate their actions, rather they know how to ignore detrimental emotions and do the right thing.
Afterward, they can complain about it, when it's safe to blow off steam.
