RII came out in 1961; it was an OK radio.

There was no actual radio used in the series; it was a prop, made out of a case from military surplus T.E.D. Navy UHF transmitter. The PA is a Masco MA-25 IIRC, it is a single-channel PA amp with the standard 70-volt line out.

I looked at the hundreds of stills online for the movie; I only see a routinized version of a Masco 1948 PA amp that was used in Korea, but still no radio. Most of the time, the prop master/Set Decorator on the movie worked harder than usual to make sure there was accurate equipment used, so I don't think they would use a Ranger. Now, if it is another scene like in Tokyo, I didn't look there.

Got the movie queued up for tonight if I get to it.
