I know off the Frantz filter. Lubrfiner was same but they didn't filter the oil going into the engine they filtered the oil off a bypass back to oil pan. Most of the old engines had cannister filters that we would double up to get more flow to the bearings.

Seems as if I remember taking Luberfiner canisters in to be cleaned?
    Does that sound familiar?
    We had one on a 70 Pete with a 318, and on a JD 860A scraper with a 671.

Years ago, it seems most Luberfiners I saw, were for severe application, heavy machinery and such, most of the road trucks I drove were beaters and had canister filters or spin on. If I remember, the Luberfiner was kind of a mess to service, and I think as spin on filter technology progressed, there was no need for Luberfiners.

    cke and SAR Thank this.

Every truck I ever drove that had a roof top a/c never worked,,,and the bosses stopped fixing them as it was thrown out money. I don't think those early condensers could take the shaking, or something.

SAR, cke, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this.
