I called night ppl being Walmart still hasn't started me yet. Im not going to be able to get to Jersey tonight. Night planner is like "you got to midnight to get there and will see if they close". Seriously, you can't have any of the other drivers in the area get it. One emptied out at 1800 here that was next to me. Why wait on me when someone else can pick it up and deliver on time.....why are they insisting I go get it late and deliver late if I can get it at all instead of being smart and sending someone else that can be on time....Are these other drivers just flat out refusing stuff....Im dumbfounded at these office ppl....

Well, despite the ban on deadhead moves longer than 150 miles, I just got a deadhead from St. Petersburg to Atlanta, 468 miles of bobtail driving. I am powerful excited. This'll will be a new record for bobtail. My previous best was from Chicago to Indy.

Destination is "Atlanta Truck Parking LLC". So either I'm about to get fired and they want a safe place to leave the truck or the rumors about Ellenwood no longer being an option for us are true and this is the new solution.

Good old rand mcnally gps failed me today and got lost in Jersey as usual and had to totally rely on common sense to find the shipper without wrecking stuff. Thankfully I found the place ok and the way out is straight forward to get to 95 with no twists and turns and weight limits, lol! I prob should have taken 1-9 to begin with instead of going through downtown Newark like the GPS sent me. I told my DM Id get lost coming here, lol! Ill take Los Angeles over this area any day....Id even rather throw chains all day out west than come here, only because I get lost regularly here. My CB handle oughta be Mr. Lost or wrong way when I come up here.

The solution to most problems involving New Jersey is to stay on the New Jersey Turnpike until the last possible moment.

Welp, there are currently four Abilene trailers here at "Atlanta Truck Parking LLC", so I am guessing this is the new drop yard for us in the Atlanta area. However, the empty I'm supposed to take to Lithia Springs in the morning is not here.

    Nah.

I actually like Jersey. I'd rather drive in Jersey than Atlanta.

Some parts of Jersey aren't that bad actually. The area inside of the I-287 loop, though, I "affectionately" call the Bermuda Triangle. I just couldn't resist the humor... ;)

This is the solution to navigating in nearly any populous area with a truck, and something I always try to pound into new drivers I talk to. Staying on “safe” main routes until the last possible moment, return to “safe” route ASAP; regardless of their being a shorter or quicker option. It’s my own version of a safe haven rule lol, 9 times out of 10 it’s trouble free. Of course there are ALWAYS exceptions
