Well I haven't posted for a while and now having some down time waiting for a reload... I can say after the past 2.5 months working here at Abilene I am now beginning to say " home" after couple minor hic cups and some talks I can now sit back and do my job.... I hope soon I can run with my " mentor" across the valleys and hills to a state a few like to travel and thats California..... I have made some new friends Here and some well....... I have to say welcome back to Mr walk on water johnboy from his 10 day journey over some interesting waters.. and to livingthedream.... walk it back.... the interesting thing about this place I can say everyday is new adventure...., the only thing I would like to see in the new year here would be a raise, preplans, and truckwashes.....but it might be wishful thinking?...

 

Lovely tree.. we don't have ours up yet bc its a yoda thing to do and he makes cinnamon toast and some times hot chocolate after the tree goes up. Happy holidays

 

Picked up a load of IV's in NC and had to be in Glen Allen at 0700 this morning. Broker said they didn't have overnight parking. Well that sucks. Had enough time to make it all the way there but didn't have enough time to take a 10 and be there at 0700. Thought about staying at the TA but that would be iffy for parking at 2200. Went to the yard and did a split sleeper. Got up there at 0655 and couldn't figure out how to get to the docks. Called the broker and told them I was there but couldn't get ahold of anyone. They marked me as not late and that's all I cared about. Was sitting in front of their building. We had directions in the QC but they were wrong. The front entrance said no trucks and the side street that the QC had said no trucks. Figured I would keep circling the area until someone let me know. Decided to chance one side street and bingo. The area to get to their docks are better for daycabs but doable. Sent in corrected address on the QC, hopefully they get input.

 

Went back to the yard after my delivery to complete my split break and take a shower. Marlon had me do a Perdue. Went down to Prince George to pick it up and they didn't have trailers so I had to live load...yay. They actually had me done in 2 hours. Made it up to Ashland and had to bang a u-turn back to the yard cuz the reefer motor died.
