Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

They just opened that one in pooler,Ga 2 or 3 years ago. They gave 4 terminals from what I remember

 

I know it's been a minute since I posted here and I'm ashamed I haven't made time sooner. Won't say I saw this coming but I knew my time was over at that place not long after Alan, Kimberly, and Joe Jr. got ejected. My miles went to #### not long after and I burned through tens years' savings waiting for things to turn around. Started looking for a new job in March of '25 after my DM left me out to ####ing dry on a broker load. Dropped my last load on the Richmond yard on 27 September; it was an LLFlex outta Louisville. Best birthday gift I ever gave myself was turning in those keys to Robert.

Started with A. Duie Pyle on their Wegman's account and it's been pretty good. Can't say it hadn't been an adjustment but I'll stay here so long as it stays profitable to be here.

Won't say there weren't good times Abilene over the years, else I wouldn't have been there just under a decade. Even with all the Mickey Mouse ######## Abilene got into I knew the good times were definitely over once Knight decided to take more direct control things.

I never met many of you folks in person there but it was always good to hear from you on here. Shiny side up, drivers.

 

April would have been 10 years.Hate to see what was once a good company,go down the toilet.
As for me I won't be transitioning over to Swift,I've got a small local company I'll be attending next week.If it works out,I'll keep everyone updated,probably will start a thread .Everyone stay safe.

Came upon the first Green Truck I saw with “Operated by Swift” decals added to the back cab wall…

hope all is going well for those who have stayed on.

 

A buddy of mine still there, has been waiting 4 days to get his truck in the shop for at the Richmond Swift terminal for a simple coolant leak. I don’t see him sticking around very long. Welcome to working for a Mega

 

Saw a Abilene truck pulling a Swift trailer today. Sad.

 

I'd been dragging a Swift trailer at least twice a month for a solid year prior to my departure at the end of September. I dunno how far back that started but a LOT of my "brokered" loads were just Swift crap for that same time frame.
