Anyone have any opinion on those yellow power inverters? I forget the name of them, but you find them at Love's and Pilots. the 2000w sells for $199, and the 1500w sells for around $129 or something. Just wonder if anybody has ever bought one and if so, what you think of it?
aside from that....any power inverter you currently use, and has given you trouble free usage? I was leaning toward a 1500w, but then after seeing how many watts a toaster oven draws (1000w) i'll probably end up going with the 2000w.
I know you want to take the sum of what you plan on running, and double it....so you dont burn out the inverter. I'm planning on getting a hotplate as well, but not run the two at the same time.......
About to buy an inverter...

Dick, you might ask the Swift shop that you trust the most what they recommend.
Being that you lease the truck, they may or may not have a say as to what you can use.
Also, let them wire it in for you, then if anything goes wrong, it falls on them to fix it. -
I have a cobra if you are a company make sure they will let you hook it up to the battery

If your talking about the yellow and black ones there PowerDrives I have the 2000watt one works great!
BUT if you work for swift you Can NOT have an inverter in your truck!

A couple months ago I got the 1500 watt one from a Loves in South Carolina or Georgia. I don't have any issues with it. I run a fridge, toaster, coffee pot, tv, computer, xbox and microwave.
I make sure with the microwave I run the truck and not anything else. Turn my fridge all the way down....if the pump kicks on when the microwave is running, it overloads. -
I bought one of the 380/400 watt 'yellow' ones when I started. It only lasted a few months before it died. Have since used a couple of Cobra's: a 400W with the cigarette adapter and a 1000W hardwired to the battery box. Both have worked fine for the last 8 or 9 months.

Also check your appliances top make sure they will run off a modified sine wave.... Cause for just $129.00 that's all your going to get is a modified.
A pure sine wave inverter runs for hundreds of dollars more.
