Hello everyone, I am a 29 year old army veteran and new to the cdl world and I am looking for some help deciding what to do on my next step. I live in fort meade florida a tiny town at the south end of polk county. I am taking my permit test on Monday and I am about to go to school so first. 1) what do you all know about road masters in tampa do you recommend it is there anything I should look out for with them? 2) what company should I work for I am looking for max pay as most would ,and tuition reimbursement would be nice since I am using my g.i. Bill for my bachelor's in business management. I am also looking for companies that are 100% no touch freight since i have a back injury due to working on a broken back for 2& 1/2 years of my 5 in the army as a diesel mechanic. Other than that the only thing I want is with at least 4 days of home time a month. I know I'm asking a lot in this post but any help would be greatly appreciated. And any tips for a new cdl driver would also be cool. Thank you for your time.

Florida is reefer (refrigerated) country for new drivers.
I'd contact some reefer companies and ask about no-touch freight. Be sure to mention you're an Army veteran at the beginning of the conversation.

You're a few miles below Interstate-4 which can be a problem. Some companies don't hire below Interstate-4.

Sage Truck Driving school in Fort Pierce if the commute isn’t too much for you. Not going to get much better than the training there. Takes 4-5 weeks start to finish..one on one training.
