It was a not fault accident, side scrape damage of a car hitting me in my personal car. First I called my company telling them and then I chose not to file a report. Now I’m reading that I have to file the report. I’m not sure what I should do.
Accident in my car but reported it to my company? Not my fault.

I've been hit twice on my way in to work and both times weren't my fault. My company didn't care and I wasn't required to report it to them.Tahkyn Thanks this.

First, I would have never reported it to my company. I would have contacted the insurance company and gotten a police report before I even remotely notified my company. The Ins company and the police report would determine fault or no fault. If I never contacted the police for a report, the company would have never heard about it.
2nd, The laws are different in every state and some local jurisdictions, but the last I heard in Louisiana, probably back in the 80's, if the damage was more than $100 you had to report it. That was a long time ago, but that was to protect the other property owner. If you broke someone's fence post for example, it had to be reported. Many times, if people weren't going to contact the insurance, they didn't report it.
3rd, Not reporting damage deemed minimum damage by the jurisdiction can lead to "leaving the scene" if its discovered.
You asked so, I'm just saying.brian991219, navypoppop, Tahkyn and 1 other person Thank this. -
