Hello, new here. I recently picked up a 2006 International 4400 dump truck with a 7 speed Spicer, and I would like to add an exhuast brake. From what I understand online, this year has a VGT turbo, and a Pacbrake won't work?
Has anyone sucessfully added an exhuast brake to a VGT DT466? What type of brake did they come with as a factory option?
I'm used to the VGT exhuast brake on my 6.7 Cummins which does a great job slowing loads down.. Any advice or pointers would be much appreciated!

No exhaust brake, but from factory they could be ordered with regular compression style "Jake" brakes. You would need to update the high pressure oil rail under the valve cover, add in proper switches and have the engine programmed for this along with sensor/valve and other connections. I would say you are looking at several thousands of dollars to upfit that. I have included a PDF of parts needs based on engine model.

Thank you for the detailed reply. I'll see if the dealer can price it out, but sounds like it'd be more $$ and work than it'd be worth..
Still looking at an aftermarket, maybe universal exhuast brake but no luck on what would work yet. -
I installed one. You have to get the ECM software changed by a dealer. They charge a lot for that! After it was installed the customer felt that it was not worth the cost for the small increase in braking power.
I installed one on a mechanical Cummins 8.3 and the customer was also dissapointed with the result.Heavyd Thanks this.
