Starting in November I will have 7 or 8 months of time to live on the road while my wife and child go overseas. I need to make as much money as possible so i can buy a home etc...for when they return.
I have 3 yrs exp and a clean abstract with some otr but mostly local deck and van experience. Im in Edmonton.
Any suggestions on how i can make the most money? I could literally live on the road for 7 months. Company driver only.
Thank-you.
Advice needed please.

where i currently work we have drivers who live in their trucks full time and the companies find with it .One guy who would drive spring to fall then leave the company come the winter months and then reapply come spring because the company wouldn’t let him take the full winter off . He decided one year to live in his truck all year and he put away $20-25k from what I heard by not having to pay rent .I Don’t think you’re going to be able put away say $100k plus to buy a house especially if your a company man just hauling dryvans or reefers .If you go that route and don’t have a apartment or any other big bills i think you could save say $20-30k maybe working your tail off .Problem is your relying on your company and having a good dispatcher to keep you moving all the time
Don’t forget times are not great right now for both canadian and American economies at the moment and may not change for a year or two. Both countries are on the break of a recession and even through you’re a canadian driver if you plan to run otr usa your really relying on what’s going on the across the boarder . Also don’t forget after the xmas season freight usually slows down for a few months so plan for that alsoLast edited: Sep 16, 2022

Great opportunity. 62 cents/mile.
They do reefer meat loads going from AB to TX, AZ, CA and
produce reefer loads coming back to Vancouver, Calgary or Regina.
New trucks and trailers. Benefits from day 1.
They are not a Carrier for hire.
They move their own product from USA to Canada.
Truck loads only. No multiple picks.Flat Earth Trucker, Magoo1968, BigHossVolvo and 4 others Thank this. -
