Going for drug test today should be in the truck by 1st of the week. Small 5 truck outfit no touch freight and no NYC. Mon-Fri weekends off with a 1000 wk minimum guarantee. I'm pretty happy to be getting out of the oilfield its been taking its toll on me being away from home 3-4 weeks at a time. I'll miss the big pay checks but my last job didn't have benefits and this place does. Cheap too, 35 a week for the Cadillac plan
After 3 years finally got a local job

Young group of guys working in the office, they all seem real laid back and easy going. Usually that's a good indicator its a decent place to work

You'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner. Maybe now, you can concentrate on a hobby. There's more to life than trucking. If you are doing local work, which can get nuts, a dash cam is more important than ever. And for the record, good equipment is the indicator of a good place. Good luck.
GenericUserName, Dan.S, slim shady and 2 others Thank this. -
Yea they run all new trucks. No slip seating and we get to take the trucks home. Its not local local. More like 300-500 mile day trips. Once in a blue moon you might have to spend a night in the truck but not very often.
One of my dads buds went over to this company a few months ago and loves it there. He said about 1250-1400$ gross a wk is what he's been doingDan.S, Bob Dobalina and 201 Thank this. -
Congrats! Don't look back...
Woodys and Brettj3876 Thank this. -
Basically day time line haul but I'm not at a LTL company. Assigned tractors no slip seating here
Can even take your home which is nice plenty of room at my place to park -
Congrats Brett. Sound like a pretty similar gig to what I used to have. Pick up stone a quarry, run it to Houston,Austin,SA,DFW and come back. 12 hours a day usually, got assigned a 99 379 all tricked out. Grossed about 12-1400 a week and got to take the tractor home and no cameras. Home daily with the weekends off. No micromanagement, laid back office staff. Man, I miss it badly. Can't find ANYTHING like it locally, in terms of the same laid back atmosphere with real equipment and pay, and certainly no one letting you take the truck home. But, oh well, #### happens I guess. I'll be getting my feet wet on Monday more than likely running LTL P&D. Volvo trucks, cameras, strict policies etc, but good benefits and pretty good starting pay. I'll just have to get used to more of a "corporate feel" and policies. I want to be happy about it, but it's just not what I'm used to.
