    Hello,

I started out with a company which only owned trailers and tractors by different owner operators. Very small scale and low on wages. After gaining some experience with them, I am now applying for bigger companies. Copy pasted the information I got from one of my potential employers.

I want to know if this is a good deal, given I've only a year experience under my belt. Your feed back will be much appreciated. Also, what does hustle bonus on miles mean?

    Driver Compensation:

    · Mileage Pay

    o 42.5 cpm base

o 1 cpm fuel bonus (monthly)

o 1 cpm performance bonus (quarterly)

o 5 cpm hustle bonus on miles over 28,000 (quarterly)

    · Additional Pay

    o Orientation pay - $15/hour

o Detention - $11/hour – payable after 2 hours (arrival/loaded calls must be on time)

    o Layover - $88/day – available 34 hours after empty call

o Pick-up & drop pay for additional stops

o Border crossing pay - $20 each time

    · Benefits

o Vacation pay is accrued at 4% from start of employment and paid after one-year of employment (6% at 5 year anniversary)

o Major Medical, Health, Life and Dental

§ Coverage begins after 90 days of continuous employment

Vacation pay is not a benefit. It is the law. What province are you in? Is it deck, van or reefer? Paper or electronic?

Layover is way too low. Must happen frequently. $11 hour for detention...what the hell is that. Not even minimum wage. Cheap SOBS. Medical plans you really have to look into. They are priced accordingly usually. You get what you pay for.
The mileage rate adds up to about average

    JC1971 and Gibraltar Thank this.

    This.

Numbers don't mean anything anymore, we need a name to verify authenticity!

I don't think its anything to get excited about. Detention and layover would be the deal breaker for me.

In Canadian dollars all those rates really suck. In American dollars they are way below average. I'd find another company to go with either way....JMO

    Hello,

The company name is Heyl. Electronic log and it's reefer out of Alberta. Any suggestions for other companies I should apply for?

I've met a few Heyl drivers, they said it was a great company. But that was over ten years ago, don't know about it now.
