With 750000 in the original fuel pump on my motor I am looking to change it as preventive maintence. Dealer wants 421.00 for a new pump. Seen these on eBay for under half. Just wondering if anybody tried these before?

My fuel pump on a 2007 D12 went to over 850,000 before the truck started surging for a few weeks and I had it checked out. It's recommend to replace the drive gear as well while everything's apart. There's a nasty fuel line in the area as well that gets corroded. The D12 has some crazy numbers before rebuilds.. 1 million 600 thousand a million 700 thousand??? Who knows what yours is capable of. Just get OEM unless you plan on selling the truck. Wanting a fuel pump for half price is the same as paying for a turbo half price. Might be a good idea but it's probably not

At least at Nextran if the parts bad they will give you a new one. That seller has 7 reviews and lives in China.

LumbraX how much was the drive gear? My truck to has started surging lately and I don't have power when I need it. Also been getting fuel pressure codes here in there even after replacing the filters. New boost sensor and no boost leaks. I plan on wearing his truck out so I have replaced quite a few items on this truck and the alternator and fuel pump are still original. I plan on using a new OEM pump but you never know some aftermarket items sometimes are a big hit.

Volvo8873 Thanks this.

my truck wasn't throwing codes but you could tell something wasn't right. Even empty going up the slightest highway grade cruise control wouldn't keep it. You know when something's not right. Sure enough the pump was complete toast. If you find a mechanic with the Volvo software they can check your fuel pressure readouts.
Volvo8873 Thanks this. -

Thanks guys getting a new OEM pump and going to change out the alternator since that is original. Just some preventive maintence. I'll report back.

Did the OEM fuel pump and after doing this I felt a noticeable gain in power. Not so much on the bottom end but certatinly on the top end.
FYI never buy cheap chinese VCAD/VOCOM software. It is all junk with non stop problems. Need to talk with my dealer sometime about ordering the OEM software. Expensive, but you get what you pay for... -
Good to know!! I was going to order the Chinese software to try adjusting customer parameters
