on my 79 pete they never worked for very long,so when they broke just let them be broke. i did like showing off my V-8 cat,but it was a pain to get the hood up.

Like has been said, yes it's Paccar, no they don't talk to each other. Same darn part, same darn part number, "It's a KW? Nope can't look it up on the Pete network." Nice customer service, jackwad.

UPDATE: Peterbilt in Harrisburg, PA quoted me $1250 for a new cylinder assy. No rebuild kit available. So I told our mechanic take it apart and see what you see. Turns out they are just standard O-rings in there I guess. It doesn't leak anymore.
They also said it came with a 3406B, 3.90 rear, RTO15.RockinChair, Coffey and NightWind Thank this. -
I ended up buying one cylinder from 4states to replace the leaky original. Replacing the O-rings in the OEM cylinder didn’t last for me.
I’m not sure if this comes in a kit but If you are thinking about adding an air assist hood where none existed before, you will need two cylinders and also two mounting brackets. The brackets are bolted to the frame rails then one end of the cylinder pins to the bracket. Then you will need to mount a valve and run lines from the air tank to the valve and from the valve to both cylinders. I can get you part numbers and pics if you want.

Yes I want to add it to my truck. part numbers and pictures of it mounted would be very helpful since I am dealing with very young parts people and "techs" as they call them now.
Thanks for the help
Happy Trails.Cowboyrich, rank and Coffey Thank this. -
www.dansshopinc.com They pretty much have any 359 parts you would want. Do a search on their website for air hood cylinder. If you need some pics let me know and I'll get some from my 84.
