My clutch leg has been giving me a lot of trouble and pushing in the clutch every day has not been helping so I’m working on a solution. I rigged up an air cylinder to push in the clutch, it works pretty good. I think I’m going to try to make the return circuit have two stages so that when the clutch pedal gets near the top it slows down but it’s fast on the bottom end of the stroke.

I’m open for suggestions as to how to slow the clutch pedal near the top of the stroke.

This is a joke isn't it???
I have driven a manual for over30 years & no problem. Just use clutch taking off or backing.

Don't remember who makes it bimba or Parker. The cylinder is made to slow down towards the end of the stroke. You should call bimba and Parker and ask them.

You can shift without using the clutch? You must be some sort of magician!!! Really??? Did you really just post this? No #### you can shift without a clutch. I’ve been dealing with a leg injury that won’t heal because of pushing in a clutch. Hoping to not have to push it in at all.

Best advice is probably get out of truck while it heals. A person's health is more important than driving.

Mack had air clutches in the late 80’s early 90’s. Not sure how they operated, but I remember there was almost no leg motion needed to engage the clutch. About like an old high beam switch mounted on the floorboard as far as how little pressure it took to use.

I think he’s talking about an air assist clutch. If so those are a rare bird. I’ve only ever seen one on a Volvo.

One of those would certainly be a hell of a nice change from a ceramic clutch.
