Get a work visa/immigrate. If you're a veteran there is a fast-track process. You can't transfer your CDL; need to get a Class 1.

Saw ads in the red deer paper yesterday.

Trican and Canyon are both looking to hire class 1 drivers.

STEP has a recruitment fair in blackfalds on the 12th.

Can any trican guys on here tell me what base salary would be for RD frac? How does the bonuses work?

Not 100% sure now but when I was there it was $3000.00 to $3200.00 per month. Depending on your experience driving.

they just got bigger bonus's back then.

$2800 a month with a class 1. Northern living allowance of additional $700 for Hinton, GP, whitecourt, and BC bases. Paid on the 1st and 15th of the month. 1st is just half salary pay, 15th is other half plus all job bonus's from previous month. Meal allowance and other expenses paid every 15 days too.

They are hiring now, but only if you have your class 1.

$2800.00/mth. Ouch. That's less than the cement guys. Would red deer be the same then since they don't get the living allowance.

Ya 2800/month is peanuts. Would have thought it would be around 32-3500.
Is base salary the same thru each division?
    what are the bonuses like?

I haven't been with Trican since last sept but I was always under the understanding the base salary was the same between bases. Although yearly raises are not included in that figure. Where you make your money is in job bonuses and that varies so much between bases it's hard to say what it is.

That's frac salary and yes it's the same for all bases. Job bonus is based on the ticket price for the day. The bigger and more expensive, the bigger the bonus. For example ticket prices from $250k to $400k bonus is $515, ticket price from $5000 to $25000 bonus $50.

Overtime is when on lease greater than 10 hours and calculated at 10% of the bonus per hour.

It was always a surprise what I got paid.
