Absinthe is an herb-infused alcohol derived from fennel, anise, and wormwood leaves. It is flavored with aniseseed and fennel, and its natural sweetness is tempered by the herbal bitterness of wormwood.
~
The bar girls would mix Absinthe with Laudanum which supercharges the Absinthe.
Absinthe & Laudanum mix is great and highly addictive. Back then, no one gave a crap that it was addictive. Officers & enlisted loved that stuff and the beautiful bar girls that served it and also drank it.
~
That mix was known as "Dancing With The Green Fairy"

It's official, Chinatown has given up the recruitment segment, and well on his way to being the TTR medic. Hey Chinatown, it hurts when I go like this,,,you know, I see these heart wrenching ads of children with cancer, and SEND YOUR DOLLARS NOW,,campaign, well, poppycok, it's been over 100 years and they haven't cured anything. Cancer, for the most part, is still a death sentence. I know, optimism can add years to a cancer patients life, but like Seth MacFarlane wrote, "there's more money in treating it than curing it". To say this specifically causes cancer, is baloney. Human beings are not carbon copies of each other, and so many factors from someones past can greatly influence cancer. So, the fact they rope all cancer patients together isn't fair. Like salt, or cigarettes, some people can tolerate it,,there is no smoking gun. I've long thought alcohol was poison, not so much for the physical downsides, but the mental anguish it creates has done more damage than all the drugs combined. That's seemingly okay.

Seth MacFarlane is hardly an expert. But he did nail it with life lessions with Wylie Coyote finally hitting the Apex of life

Biden Promises to 'Cure Cancer' in His First Term.
Jun 14, 2019 · If former Vice President Joe Biden gets elected in 2020, he's curing cancer. At least that's what the presidential hopeful promised at a campaign stop in Ottumwa, Iowa on Tuesday this week.Rideandrepair and Arctic_fox Thank this. -
I'm currently in remission from Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I asked my oncologist what he thought caused it. He said he couldn't be sure but he saw it a lot in farmers and construction workers. He said I was exposed to some kind of chemical along the line. That's when a friend mentioned diesel fumes. How many of us have walked through a parking lot in the winter with trucks idling ? I have walked through a haze many times with burning eyes and lungs. I can't say for sure if that's what caused my cancer, but I have my suspicions.
Rideandrepair, silverspur and Chinatown Thank this.
