I'm wondering is Amerifreight a good company to work for being that I'm a new driver with only one year experience?

I'm curious about AmeriFreight for a different reason. There was just a sea of new Wabash trailers up in Lafayette earlier this year with 'AmeriFreight' on them. Takes capital and depth to buy that many new trailers. Dunno. Don't see a whole lot of them on the lane I run, though.

    Those trailers went somewhere...

Yeah Idk about that but they just hired me and I've read two bad reports. One that they don't pay for all your miles and that there being sued for trademark infringement. Also that they have a high violation number for running over the HOS.

    They'e out of Chicago/Bensenville.

Most companies don't pay for all miles driven unless they specifically state "practical miles." Most companies pay zip code to zip code or household goods movers milage guide.

Concerning HOS violations, that's a driver problem. If they run paper logs, that's good, you don't get stuck in a rest area 2 miles from a truck stop doing a 10 hr. break.

Most all of their drivers I see drive like they have 7 hours of experience.

Beyond that I know nothing about them.

They are in Elk Grove Village... We used to take our trucks to them for service... From the couple of drivers I've talked with and from what I have personally heard while sitting in the waiting area they treat the drivers like crap (atleast the shop boss does) They just expanded there yard that's off of Busse and Devon... I believe they have something like 500 tractors...You see them all day long on the Indiana/Ohip turnpike coming from the far east... I see them also along 80 in Wyoming and out that way... There trucks are goverened under 70 for sure... I will say most of the equipment Ive seen them have is kept up pretty decent...

    Truckduo--------- You are right on....

Someone on here said the modern cowboys drive Volvos, wear track suits and live in Chicago. This sums up these guys. Lol

Their drivers have always been nice to me. I helped one back into a spot in Auburn, WA so he hooked us up with 6 months supply of paper towels. Bounty double roll select a size. My wife was very happy. Lol

Only thing is that I suspect their drivers do dual logs.

yes,i know them and one of their "other companies" and yes they moved again btw-typical russian mafia outfit-run the #### out of their equipment treat their drivers like #### and dont always pay you for miles or at all!!!-not to mention they have other names/companies with similar names to long standing/legit companies-hence the lawsuits wish i would of done more homework or knew about these forums before i got screwed by them-p.s. you have to run two logs with them or not make money due to sitting for hours waiting on gas and load ect ect and they dont care what your HOS are or the law-hence more lawsuits-but you have to make the delivery or else-bad news all they way around-this company and ones like it is whats wrong with trucking and gives the good drivers and companies bad names-run away from them no matter what they say

truckdou-yes i was nice and a few other drivers are nice there but getting screwed by not nice company and treated bad and example of who they hire-and their operating ways-hired back a guy who took off with a load and load was stolen-my "trainer" was a 22 year old kid(not that that is bad)but with 3 months experience out of truck school-lol and training time for me to go solo?5 days lol-drove to yard on my own dime after pulling a trailer with a bulging tire they wouldnt fix for weeks-i was wrong for even driving it-not a company anyone should think about
