I was at a Loves this morning and the driver had the curtains closed, but the cat had climbed up under them and was hanging out on the dash like he owned the whole truck. Almost made me wish I had a cat with me.:)

He would only be liable for the deductable. He could go to jail for animal abuse if Mr. Whiskers heat stroked out. If I were him, I'd start job hunting now. I wouldn't want to work were I had to stress over such rules and work with coworkers who would rat you out.

If they allow you to have a pet in the truck, there are animal abuse protections that will allow you to run the truck even if there are anti-idling policies in place at either the company, or a town/business.

I love animals, but it's funny and sad that the law protects them from extreme temperatures, but not drivers.

The cat in the fridge is some funny stuff. Only in trucking. Sure that not against company policy the cat fridge. Ha ha

Ok I'm might have a solution their are different versions of this but I just googled this one. They make coolers and you full then with ice. The cooler has fan. It blows the air over the ice and you have A/C. They are 12v and when you need more a/c you buy more ice.

IcyBreeze Portable Air Conditioner and Cooler

    Just idle the #### truck.

If they fire you tell them to fly a kite and find a new job in like 2 minutes.

These companies treat you like crap and you guys let them.

Like I said. If they fire you over that they did you a favor. Find somewhere that lets you keep your home away from home climate controlled.

Haven't been a road driver since the 90's but back then I started the truck when I left the yard and shut it off when I got back to the yard. I guess things have changed .
