Another Highway Sign Brought Down In H-Town

There were signs for 1km plus rumble strip approaching the bridge construction today

 

Let me guess highway 17?? I took the 11 home between the paving and jackarses on way to the gta I took the long way it was peaceful

 

How does this happen? I guess driver’s forgot to disengage their PTO and a leak in the raise valve causes the bed to slowly raise? You would think they would somehow limit how far or how fast you can travel with the PTO engaged.

 

I haven't operated an end in dump in years, but between the floorboard vibration at high rpms and the noise...?

 

That truck and trailer is humping that poor Jersey barrier.

 

There are videos all over youtube about just that scenario.

I have yet to hear any explanation as to how it happens.

Worse, the scenarios (many of the vids) wherein the truck is already blazing down a 6-lane divided, at speed, with his dump fully in the air.

It just boggles my mind, considering that means not once did the driver obviously never look in his mirror during all that driving.

 

The higher the rpm the faster it will raise. At road speed with trans turning fast it will only take a second or two for it to raise. Quicker then any warning light or buzzer will activate and reaction time with the eyes ears and brain will recognize.

 

Driving with a box up and not knowing it.
