Is GTL that big? I remember seeing their trucks when I worked down the street but didn’t think they had many trucks.

Transforce has been scooping everyone up for yours. Is there a limit to size in trucking before they shut you down from buying because of monopolizing?

TransForce tried to purchase APPS Transport but the competition bureau killed the deal. So there is some governance but it sounds like it’s only on big acquisitions.

Mullen stepped up afterwards and purchased APPS.

TFI pulls out of APPS Transport acquisition

TFI holds a lot of debt. Not a very good outlook if interest rates continue to rise as they are:

"as of March 2022 TFI International had US$1.70b of debt, an increase on US$1.24b, over one year. Net debt is about the same, since the it doesn't have much cash.

How Healthy Is TFI International's Balance Sheet?
The latest balance sheet data shows that TFI International had liabilities of US$1.11b due within a year, and liabilities of US$2.55b falling due after that. Offsetting these obligations, it had cash of US$20.6m as well as receivables valued at US$1.18b due within 12 months. So its liabilities outweigh the sum of its cash and (near-term) receivables by US$2.46b.

This deficit isn't so bad because TFI International is worth US$7.39b, and thus could probably raise enough capital to shore up its balance sheet, if the need arose. But we definitely want to keep our eyes open to indications that its debt is bringing too much risk.

We Think TFI International (TSE:TFII) Can Manage Its Debt With Ease

Not sure how many trucks they have. I called them when CAT screwed all the O/O's but their pay package wasnt great so I kept looking.

CAT Bought Penner and moved all trucks to Manitoba plates to save on the insurance a couple years ago.
