Antenna install

    I'm going to install one of my older radios in my Ram 5500. The truck is used to pull our camper. I'm thinking I'll probably sell the truck within the year. So where to locate the antenna? In the past, my antennas have been roof mounted, permanent installs. I'm not so sure i want to drill a hole in this 5500. Is the performance I'd get from a roof mount that much better than what a "temporary" hood installation provide?

    Always better to have it on the roof. I have found, if you use the proper rubber plug to stop-up the hole, it won't hurt the value at all. If you're trading it in, there is a good chance they won't even notice it. My cousin was a GM dealer for years. He said it wouldn't hurt the value on a pickup, he said don't do it on your Cadillac though! FWIW

    On pickup I use the am fm radio mount

    On truck a welded bracket for antenna.
