So the setup is a K40 Helical 20kw, mounted to a "heavy duty" spring, then that is mounted to my 2way mount stud, bracketed to a 2015 cascadia mirror.

Now here's the scenario, I'm a rock hauler. Roads are dirt paths through a farmers field.

Do I really need the spring? Swr is not an issue with or without. The antenna seems really well made but I'm new to CB's really..

Mirror arm mount. 6’ or 7’ Skipshooter. (Keep under 13’5” total height).

The longer antenna is better even if it and the shorter reach same height.

    Spring may not be necessary.

I'm not so much worried about length. As I am with the security of the mount. The K40 has a solid shaft, I was curious if running a spring would help prevent the antenna from snapping off due to wind or road conditions.
