I'm in the South, technically. Southern Appalachian mountains of East TN. I don't run a whole lot in cold country but I live on a mountain these days where it it get's d*mn cold. Tractor, diesel VW Jetta for my grocery getter and my work equipment use diesel.

I've always paid about $7 a bottle for Howe's at dealership counters, usually while on runs north in the winter. I don't run it all winter.

I call around today and look at Walmart, Tractor Supply, etc. and it's $15 a bottle now. I call a couple of local truck dealer counters where it's always been half that and they don't even sell it here!

What gives? What are you guys paying in the northern states?

Please don't turn this into a general rant about inflation. There's plenty of that already. Just curious about anti-gel.

Fuel in the North is already pre treated. When I go to MN-ND in extremely cold weather, I just fuel with diesel #1.
The last time I bought anti gel in my local Michigan parts store a year ago, I do remember it being about $7. Did not know price went up so high

Around $20 a bottle locally. Been paying as much as $35 at the truckstops when my arm is twisted and around $25-28 is average when i run out. (I run for 4 to 6 weeks at a time and cant fit more then a dozen bottles in my box lol)

Highway robbery! Literally. I guess I'll force a smile and buy 2 bottles at Wally World here in a few minutes for $13.50 per, if they actually have it.

Yea sadly the ones at home arent a ton cheaper. I live in the middle of bum#### nowhere. So everything costs about 10-20% more then the city. And by the time ive run down to the city and back im usually out more in fuel then i saved going TO the city.

As for the truckstops yea i HATE buying at them and try to do it at a store whenever i can. But if the choice is being robbed or getting towed for a gelup.....being robbed all year is cheaper then 1 tow and filters.

I run Power Service antigel, not because I think it’s better or anything, it’s just what dad always got, and it works, so I kept using it. I watch for it to go on sale during the summer, they have a bottle that treats 250 gallons, and you can get it at Menards in June-July for $9.00. I walk out with a cart full then…
