Iam trying to get some info about Sammons out of Missoula from non l/p drivers. I have my own truck, Im looking to pull step as that is where most of my experience is. What can you earn there? Can you stay busy?

Used to be a good company till they got company equipment aka lease purchase trucks. Now they dispatch according to how much you owe the company. Also some dispatchers have their prima donnas that get all the good freight. If you are a O/O you will be looking for about 90 percent of your own loads because they have no salesman. The higher ups think they know about trucking but they don't have a clue.....

That's way one shouldn't lease from and pull for the same outfit, too much room to get a shellacking and fertile ground for shenanigans...

There is no difference whether your lease purchase or an O/O as far as getting load offers, I've been on both sides and am still here as an O/O. They do have a dispatcher that saves good loads for her favorites, but the freight that comes from the actual dispatchers is usually cheap, the agents have the better loads usually. We don't have coordinators so you have to run your own truck, and do need to find your own loads sometimes. Right now freight is really slim here, but I think its the same everywhere. They have cheap freight and good freight so whether you make good money here really depends on you.

Carrier Sponsored LP drivers=Company drivers PERIOD! "Its that simple"

No if ands or buts! The Company trucks will ALWAYS get fed first!

    O/O can get table scraps

Moglar can be depended on to show his ignorance, Sammons has no company trucks. LP an OO have the same load boards, same agents and are loaded the same. The biggest difference is that a newer LP may be called on a cheap load they know an experienced lp or OO will not take.
